KALAMATA OLIVES

Kalamata Olive is one of the best varieties of table olives worldwide and is the cornerstone of the Mediterranean Diet. It is considered the queen of olives and not unjustly. It contains important nutrients such as vitamins and minerals but also carbohydrates and fiber.

The members of the producers’ organization of the Agricultural Cooperative of Ancient Oleneia produce olives of superior certified quality. They cultivate organic olive products within an area protected by the RAMSAR treaty and has been included in the NATURA 2000 network. Respecting the environment and the sacred olive tree, they have joined an integrated management program with CERTIFICATION AGRO2.1 and AGRO 2.2.

In the modern facilities of the Agricultural Cooperative, the primary sorting of the fruit, the fermentation process, the pitting process and the final packaging are carried out.

OLIVE OIL

The olive oil of our members is comes from olives of the Koroneiki variety and Koutsourelia (local). It is one of the most important gifts of the Aetolian land to be added to our daily diet and to give us vitamin E, monounsaturated fatty acids (up to 83%) and antioxidants (polyphenols of olive oil: oleic acid, oleopein, squalene).

The oil is produced within 2 hours from the collection in a traditional olive press, the grinding of the fruit is done with granite millstones and the cold pressing is done at a maximum temperature of 27 degrees.
